Australian Fashion Week ran from 11 to 15 May at the Museum of Contemporary Art and venues across Sydney, the first full edition planned by the Australian Fashion Council since it took the event over in late 2024.

The first-wave schedule brought established houses Aje, Bianca Spender, Carla Zampatti and Toni Maticevski. New Gen gave runway time to Alberta Bucciarelli, Gloria Chol and KingKing Creative, and a new group show, The Frontier, joined the programme.

Two dedicated First Nations runways featured Buluuy Mirrii and van Ermel Scherer.

The public could buy tickets to group showcases with see-now-buy-now collections, and organisers reported buyer interest from the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States.
