The IOC signs off on Rockhampton for 2032 rowing
Rowing and canoe sprint for Brisbane 2032 will be held on the Fitzroy River in central Queensland.

The IOC, World Rowing and Paddle Worldwide approved the Fitzroy River on 17 September after an independent assessment of the water, weather, flood risk and course.
“The Fitzroy has passed with flying colours,” Premier David Crisafulli said. World Rowing president Jean-Christophe Rolland said the river can offer fair competition conditions.
The work now is planning, design and building. Local challenges include river flow in dry years, flooding, an estimated 96 crocodiles near the 2km course, and about 1,200 extra rooms the city will need by 2032.
